Loving and Praying for our Church
In last Sunday’s sermon in Psalm 122, we saw that when we love God's church, we are passionate about God's church, and we will pray for God’s church. What a joy, privilege and call we have from God in praying for our beloved church!
When our love for the church moves us to pray for her, we find that God strengthens his church in power. In Chapter One in the book C.H. Spurgeon On Spiritual Leadership, we find these words: “When [Spurgeon] toured friends and guests through Metropolitan Tabernacle (his church), he would take them to the prayer room in the basement, where people could be found on their knees offering up intercessory petitions to God. Spurgeon would tell his visitors, ‘Here is the powerhouse of this church.’”
Church, when you love and pray together for our church, you are the powerhouse of our church!

Pray for your pastors - Derek as he leads the preaching and teaching ministry of the church; for Tim as he leads our evangelism efforts; and for Tom as he provides ongoing care and counsel.
Pray with thanksgiving for your church’s finances as we enter a new budget year.
